Warrior Angels Rescue is a grassroots effort to provide immediate assistance and relief to Hurricane Maria survivors in Puerto Rico who are in most desperate need of aid. We are a group of volunteers who refuse to let inertia and red tape hinder our ability (and responsibility) to provide immediate assistance to our fellow citizens.
Our volunteers are laser-focused on three things:
1. Identify medically fragile folks who need immediate assistance: We help folks who most desperately need medical attention (expectant mothers, newborn babies, medically fragile adults, the elderly) and evacuate them to a safe place on mainland US.
2. Fly supplies into Puerto Rico, and fly medically fragile folks out to get help: We beg, barter and borrow to find any and all chartered flights that can travel to Puerto Rico, deliver much-needed emergency supplies and medical personnel on the leg in, and evacuate medically fragile folks on the departure back to mainland US.
3. Coordinate volunteers to help deliver supplies, ensure safe passage, and receive folks in the mainland US: We coordinate our volunteers on the ground (in Puerto Rico, Miami, Orlando, New York, Los Angeles, and any other place where volunteers want to help) to deliver supplies, provide safe passage, and a safe place on the mainland for these folks to land.
Hurricane Maria’s catastrophic impact on Puerto Rico has left the island completely crippled and without power.
